These Men They Call Knights
WIIFM - (What's In It For Me?)

Below is a brief outline of who we are.  If you need more information please contact us to begin your admission process.

In 1882 a young priest named Father Michael McGivney gathered a small group of Catholic laymen in the basement of St. Mary’s Church in New Haven, Connecticut.  That group formed a fraternal benefit society to provide insurance benefits for the widows of its deceased members.  That group became known as the Knights of Columbus. From those humble beginnings the Knights of Columbus has grown into a fraternal order with more than 1.7 million members in over 13,000 councils throughout the world.

Our Lady of the Rosary Council #3876 has been affiliated with the parish for over 45 years and during that period has continually provided financial contributions to support the parish facilities.

The council is very active and welcomed three new members in the last fraternal year.  Our activities include fund raisers for the parish, Don Guanella House, St. Vincent DePaul Society, Annual Wheelchair collection and other charities.  We also sponsor several youth programs, for example we provide religious awards for the outstanding graduating religion student, a poster contest, a soccer contest, and a basketball foul shooting contest. We also participate in several community functions.

We are about God and Country and helping and assisting the church in many areas and doing work in the community.

We meet once a month except in July and August.  Wives are also involved in helping in some of our activities.

You are free to advance in the organization as your time and knowledge permits.

You will be associated with fellow Knights, friends and parishioners who are bonded in friendship and who stand together in caring and helping in everything that gets accomplished by our good works.

Several of our members serve on the parish finance committee, the pastoral committee, ushers, collectors and are Eucharistic Ministers.
